Lace Bangle

On Saturday i was at the store and Saw some bangles with lace and was SOOOooooo Pretty.

I do this very often and i think it’s just my crafty or frugal nature but i always look at “HOW” i can remake it. Unless it something hard or I just really like it and I want “THAT” one.

Well here is a case where i saw the bangles and loved it and I CAN MAKE IT.

So here is a store version:

And here is MY version:

Pretty dang close right?

This little project takes about 15 mins to make.

Tutorial time!

Materials:

Wooden bangle

(I used DIY Bangles. They have GREAT prices!)

1 scrap solid and 1 scrap lace

(long and wide enough for your bangle)

Glue gun and glue sticks

scissors

Instructions:

Fold your scrap and place some hot glue on the bangle like this:

Tightly wrap it around and also fold the ends. Fold and glue the fabric in the inside too.

Should like this:

repeat Same Steps with the Lace.

Make sure you do it tight so it looks like this in the end.

And Now you have a lacey bangle knock off that is stylish and cute!

Make some with your daughters or as gifts!

Try black lace, green lace, purple lace…. You can get them at joanns!

    • I used fabric paint. Or you could use normal washable paint if you changed your mind on the color toss it in the wash and try a different color :)

Vintage like flower headband

Looking for the Vintage like headband giveaway? click here.
Ends Tuesday 7 in the A.M.

Want a fun and easy tutorial that will sure be a great Christmas gift hit for those little ones or just for the ladies?
Well I have come up with this super cute Vintage like headband!
I get so many compliments on this headband at church and wherever i go out!
What you need is:
glue gun
scissors
satin
tulle
beads
ribbon

cost:
Satin=$0.36 for 1/8th at walmart
beads= free to $2.00
ribbon= for 3 yards $2.00
I already had my supplies from previous so this would have cost me a total of $1.13
I have posted earlier a tutorial on how to make burnt satin flowers that is where you will go to get most of the project done here.
Now after you have done all that you also do that with the tulle
(Tulle scrunches up really fast so don’t burn it!)
Now that you have all your pieces you Layer them together how ever you want.
Once your happy with how it looks you will hot glue them together a petal at a time.
Then hot glue the bead into the center.
grab your ribbon and measure the length you want for a head band. Cut.
Now you hot glue the petals in the center of the ribbon (I made 3 burnt flowers)
After that is done now burn the edges of the ribbon that you have cut so the don’t fray on you.
and there you have your vintage like headband! So stylish and a beautiful piece.
Aren’t they cute?

Basket Weave Scarf Tutorial

It has been pretty chilly these last few days here in Utah and made me wish i had a nice chunky scarf to wear around my neck to keep me warm and cozy, Something with a pop of color and different then traditional scarfs.I came home determined to make my self a nice scarf that is different and started sketching away any ideas.
Oh and I will tell ya i was a success at something i wanted.
Went to the fabric store and picked up 2 different fabrics that i liked and thought would look really cute together.

And so The BASKET WEAVE SCARF came alive.

I think its cute! I like a raw look of the un sewn fabric.

Tutorial:

CUT 4 80×4 strips of 1 color fabric.
CUT 6 80×4 strips of the pattern fabric. Set 2 strips aside.
(I recommend anything soft. The pink i used was knit and the floral was a chiffon type of fabric)

Sew the 4 pattern fabric ends to each other (right sides together) to make a LONG strip.

Since you have Very long pieces i found it easier to make this scarf on the floor.

Lay the 4 solid color strips that you cut on the floor, straighten them out and put them close together.

Now with that long strip you made of the pattern fabric you are going to use it and weave it through the solid strip.

THE BASKET WEAVE:

Step ONE:
You will start off by going OVER one strip and UNDER the next, OVER and UNDER.
(leave about 5 inches of the solid strips un weaven and leave about 5 inches of the pattern strip that you are using to weave un weaven on the end as we will use this to knot at the end.)

Step TWO:

You are going to repeat same steps just starting opposite:
UNDER, OVER, UNDER and over.
Repeat until the end and make sure you leave about 5 inches at the end.

Now your Scarf should start looking like this:

Once you get to the end and leaving about 5 inches untouched you are going to knot the ends together with the left over long fabric you have left from weaving.

After you knot make sure you go OVER. KNOT, UNDER. KNOT and OVER. KNOT.

after you knotted both ends you will use the 2 stripes you set aside and measure exactly how long your plain fabric is left over in the ends. Mine was 5 inches so now for the pattern fabric i will double that length. My double length is 10 inches. CUT.

Fold the cut fabric and loop it over the ends of the scarf.

Once your done with that Trim off the longer layer to make it even.

Yay! Now you have a Basket Weave SCARF!

Enjoy it!

Valentines day Banner

Valentines day Banner

My mantel is a bit bare still but at least i thought i would make some kind of valentines banner for it!

I think it’s cute with burlap hearts and little floral print flags.

I attached them to a rope (not so sure what this kind of rope is called).

So here is a simple and sweet 15 min project you can do for your valentines decor!

What you need:

Fabric Scraps

Burlap

Scissors

Rope

Instructions:

Measure your mantel or the place you want to put your banner and double it.

Now with that doubled number you want to cut the rope.

Cut as many burlap hearts that you may need. Freestyle the hearts when you cut it… Little imperfections make it even better

.

Cut little triangle flags as big as you want.

With the flags and hearts you will cut the ends so you can enter the rope.

this is what it should look like:

now run the rope through them, flag, heart, flag, heart…..

and now you have a pretty valentines day banner!

I hope you enjoyed this simple and sweet tutorial!

Cinema

I always thought of myself that i would someday make a great actress/Model.

My acting skills were really good at one time and I remember that time that i fit in a size 4 pants and had all the confidence in the world.

If i were to be in a movie i would choose the “TITANIC” and would Rose, To wear those dream fancy hats and dresses with the body framing corset, Two men fighting for your love and choosing that piece of hunk of Leo Di’caprio?

And how about that Blue heart necklace!

Wow.

I think i would enjoy being rose and having that cast as my co workers.

I did DREAM really big but something little happened called “FAMILY” which is a much bigger dream i ever thought i could have and It’s something i would choose over 100 TIMES over any carrier.

Right now It’s not my time and perhaps later on when my children grow up i will move towards that but for now i am happy where i at with my children and my Husband, Which by the way is MUCH more hunkier then any Leo di’caprio…

Now a question:

What movie would YOU be?

Bold Pink Eyeshadow Tutorial

One of my Favorite things is Eyeshadow, Sparkly ones, matte ones, bright ones, dark ones and seriously that list can go on.

Today is not like my usual self day Today i felt DARING and wanted to sport a Awesomely Faux hair DO.

I actually am enjoying this DO.

So Ya wanna know how to make your eyeshadow pop?

You need a sparkly light pink, a few drops of water, a concealer brush, a all over brush, a liner brush and mascara.

Add some of the pink powder on the eyeshadow lid and add a couple drop of water to wear its like a mush when you  mix it with your concealer brush.

Apply with the concealer brush over lid and under your eyes.

Then you will Apply some loose pink powder with the all over brush.

Just add some mascara and highlight your brow bone.

The water helps it stay longer and make it more shinier.

Now you have that bold Day look.

Sweet and simple.
